Children and member of the Public are not permitted in the Exhibition area or any room hosting an industry activity. In addition, EADC asks delegates and faculty to refrain from taking children to any scientific session or practical demonstrations.

The weather in Chiba during the Congress period should be rather mild and dry. The mean temperature in early November is about 13.0°C, with the maximum and minimum temperatures being 16.7°C and 9.6°C respectively. Congress participants are recommended to bring a light sweater with them. Formal wear will not be required for any of the Congress functions.

Tokyo time (Japan SDT) is GMT plus 9 hours.

The unit of currency is the Japanese Yen (JPY). Most foreign currencies and traveler's checks can be changed at banks, money-changers and hotels. Japanese Yen bills are available in denominations of 1,000, 2,000, 5,000 and 10,000 yen. Coins come in denominations of 1, 5, 10, 50, 100 and 500 yen. All major credit cards are widely accepted.

The Japanese electric current is 100V, 50-cycle AC in eastern Japan. The plugs are flat two pin.

Tipping is not customary in Japan. However, major restaurants or hotels may add a 10% to 15% service charge. Japan has a 8% consumption tax.

The conference organizer cannot accept liability for personal injuries, or loss of or damage to the property belonging to participants, either during or as a result of the conference. The participants are strongly advised to get own personal insurance before traveling to the conference.
